EMDR.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) is simply a therapy where we can retrain our nervous system. When something traumatic or adverse happens the memory is stored with the original picture, sound, smell, etc. Sometimes the memory gets “stuck” where we feel negative symptoms like anxiety or depression whenever we are triggered. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation that helps “unlock” the memory and processes it in the correct area of the brain. Doing this will decrease negative symptoms!

The World Health Organization recognizes EMDR as a first line of treatment for PTSD. EMDR is also a wonderful and effective treatment for anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, anger, ADHD, and more. Since EMDR uses bilateral stimulation, (and you don’t need to even talk for it to work!) typically you will complete treatment sooner compared to typical talk therapy.
